The MQ-4 Methane Gas Sensor is a semiconductor gas sensor designed to detect methane (CH₄) and natural gas concentrations in the surrounding environment. It uses a heated tin dioxide (SnO₂) sensing element whose electrical resistance changes in the presence of combustible gases.
The MQ-4 is commonly used with Arduino, microcontrollers, and gas monitoring projects. It is suitable for gas detection experiments, monitoring systems, and educational electronics applications.
